Arabidopsis Hits the Field!

6. 3. 2026

Spring is finally here, and we’d like to wish you a beautiful season full of sunshine, energy, and time spent outdoors.

For us, spring also means something we’ve been looking forward to all year: our first field experiment. This season we’ll be growing Arabidopsis thaliana directly outside and observing how the plants develop under real conditions.

We’ll be doing phenotyping and monitoring how the plants grow throughout the season, as well as looking at genome and chromosome stability under natural environmental conditions.

It also means some real field work for us — preparing the soil, removing roots, and getting everything ready before the plants go in. After spending most of our time in the lab and growth chambers, it feels great to finally be outside. There’s something really special about having your hands in the soil again — getting them dirty, working with the earth, and feeling that connection to the ground where we are rooted.

We’re really excited about the field experiment. Wish us luck!

Once things start growing, we’ll be happy to share some updates from the field with you.

Wishing you a wonderful spring.
